Violeta Alexandru; Pensions will increase effective September 1st

The Minister of Labor, Violeta Alexandru, stated on Tuesday evening at B1 TV, that the pensions will increase in Romania based on a percentage evaluation of the budget revenues.

Minister Alexandru said that our assumed intention is to increase pensions, we will see the revenue situation, the budgetary impact on several scenarios and to communicate in the shortest possible time.

Also, the Minister mentioned that things have been constantly evolving during this period when activities have closed due to the pandemic. No one could have predicted that such a thing would happen. Things are starting to recover, but now they are still evolving. It is certain that we have to draw a line to see what the situation is.

Moreover, the Minister stated that one of her objectives during the coronavirus pandemic is that Romanians should not lose their jobs and that for this reason they resorted to the measure of technical unemployment.

The Minister concluded that the number of suspended employment contracts is in an obvious decrease, which means that the Romanian economy is starting to recover.

The Minister Violeta Alexandru assured the population;

WE WILL CERTAINLY INCREASE PENSIONS, BUT REALISTICALLY, WITH GUARANTEES OF SUSTAINABILITY.
